ONLINE CLASS IV LASER SAFETY COURSE – PODIATRIST

This course is a Podiatry laser safety course for Podiatrists and other qualified staff responsible for the safe use of a laser in their practice. This training offers a comprehensive knowledge of Class IV (also covers Class IIIb) therapeutic laser apparatus for the management of acute and chronic pain, neurology injuries, and rehabilitation post-musculoskeletal injury. It also reviews the basic mechanism and safety features for plantar warts and toe fungus laser treatments.
It includes basic laser physics, the comprehension of laser therapy settings and parameters, details of specific laser hazards, how to prevent them, and common laser safety protocols to implement in podiatry practice.

Laser Licence For Podiatrists In Australia

This course is useful for laser license, compliance, regulatory, and insurance purposes.​
Queensland, Tasmania, and Western Australia require a laser license to use a Class IV laser.
As a result, a laser safety course is one of the requirements to apply for a laser license.
ACT, NT, NSW, VIC, and SA do not require a laser license to use a Class 4 laser, however, it is recommended to access a laser safety course for insurance purposes.
This course is based on the Australian & New Zealand standards and laser safety regulations. It can be used to apply for a laser license in QLD, TAS, WA.

Recommended Study Time

Half a day is usually sufficient to complete this laser therapy safety course. However, students have up to 1 year to complete the course.
The online course is rewarded with 2 credits in continuous education.
Students are welcome to start at any time.

As mentioned above, typical students are Podiatrists and their assistants wishing to implement a Class 4 laser therapy service in their podiatry clinic or educate their new staff on laser therapy safety. However, practice managers and other professionals working in this industry are also welcome to take this course.
