Laser Licence For Cosmetic Doctors, Dermal Clinicians and Cosmetic Nurses In Australia
This course is useful for laser license, compliance, regulatory, and insurance purposes.
Queensland, Tasmania, and Western Australia require a laser license to use a Class IV laser.
As a result, a laser safety course is one of the requirements to apply for a laser license.
ACT, NT, NSW, VIC, and SA do not require a laser license to use a Class 4 laser, however, it is recommended to access a laser safety course for insurance purposes.
This course is based on the Australian & New Zealand standards and laser safety regulations.
Recommended Study Time
Half a day is usually sufficient to complete this laser therapy safety course. However, students have up to 1 year to complete the course.
The online course is rewarded with 2 credits in continuous education.
Students are welcome to start at any time.

This course is useful for cosmetic doctors, plastic surgeons or skin cancer doctors who wish to implement a service of cosmetic lasers in their clinic for sun damage, skin rejuvenation with pigmented lesions, vascular lesions or benign raised lesions.

- Acquire a good understanding of laser physics, laser devices for sun damage, pigmentation, superficial vascular lesions, and raised skin moles.
- Understand their settings: CW, pulsing T-On T-Off, Spot size, Wavelengths, Power.
- Learn to assess the possible hazards of lasers depending on their classification and their applications.
- Gain knowledge of laser systems and how to protect people involved in a laser procedure and minimize exposure from laser radiation and other hazards.
- Review examples of safety protocols and learn LSO responsibilities.
